If you’ve always wanted to teach young children, this is the place to start. In preschool programs and community sites, you’ll be introduced to professionals working as a preschool and elementary teacher, childcare provider, therapist, and special education teacher. Second-year students work toward the National Child Development Associate Certificate (CDA) and earn college credit accepted by Lansing Community College, Washtenaw Community College, Ferris State, Baker College, and Davenport University.
Education Careers is an honors program for juniors and seniors interested in the teaching professions. Students observe and teach in preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school classes. In the second semester, students have an opportunity to work in a classroom for 20 hours or more. You can earn college credit accepted by Ferris State, Baker College and FETE courses at Eastern Michigan University.
