To help maintain a safe environment for our families and staff, the Registration Office is currently operating on an appointment basis. To make an appointment, please call 517.548.6232. When visiting the Registration Office, all visitors must wear a mask or face covering if they are medically able to. 

How to Register Your Child

Howell Public Schools has implemented an online registration process. To register your child online, please click here

To enroll your child in Begindergarten or Kindergarten for the 2021-22 school year, please click here.

After completing the the online registration process, please submit the following required documents to Karen@HowellSchools.com:

  • Child’s certified birth certificate
  • All immunization records
  • Vision screening results
  • Proof of residency (driver’s license, current utility bill or purchase or lease agreement)

Please register your student(s) at least two (2) days prior to the date you wish your child(ren) to begin. This allows for the student's information to be entered into the school database and class placement / scheduling of your child(ren) to be completed before their start date. We will also have you notify / arrange transportation at that time. If there are no openings at your home school, your child(ren) may be transferred to another school within the district. If that happens, transportation will be provided.

School of Choice

Howell Public Schools is a K-12 School of Choice district. Students who do not reside within the district boundaries, but would like to take advantage of Howell Public Schools' robust course offerings and technological opportunities are encouraged to apply. There is no cost for a student to attend Howell Public Schools via the Schools of Choice program. 

The School of Choice enrollment window for the first semester of the 2021-22 school year is now open.
The first semester enrollment deadline is Friday, August 20, 2021.
The second semester enrollment deadline is Friday, January 7, 2022.
