Process of Developing a New Strategic Plan

September of 2015 - the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB) and Superintendent MacGregor held two Listen and Learn: One Howell town hall meeting with district stakeholders. Additionally, MASB held several stakeholder meetings and launched an online survey to gather feedback from the Howell Public Schools community.

December 2015 - a group of more than 50 district and community stakeholders attended an all-day strategic planning workshop. Using community feedback and district data, workshop attendees spent more than eight hours reviewing and updating the district’s mission, vision, belief and goal statements. They also identified several objectives for each goal statement.

January 2016 - district and school administrators met for a strategic plan implementation meeting. During this meeting, the administrators reviewed the revised district’s mission, vision, belief and goal statements and the objectives that supported each goal statement. Each objective was then prioritized and the district’s first year action plans were developed. These action plans will be used to help guide the decision-making process for the next year.
