10/20/2025 - Howell Public Schools and two of its collective bargaining units have reached agreements on new contracts. The district and the Howell Educational Support Personnel Association (HESPA), which represents the district’s support staff, have agreed to a two-year contract. The district and the Howell Education Association (HEA), which represents the district’s teachers, have agreed to a one-year contract. Both agreements include step increases for eligible employees and an average wage increase of approximately 3% in each year the contracts are in effect.
“I would like to thank the HEA and HESPA for their collaboration with the district in negotiating these contracts. The agreements are fair and mutually beneficial for both the district and the bargaining units. The wage increases included in the contracts will help the district remain competitive in hiring and retaining top teachers and staff while continuing to be fiscally responsible,” said Erin J. MacGregor, Ed.D., superintendent of Howell Public Schools.
Both the HESPA contracts will be in effect until June 30, 2027, and the HEA contract will be in effect until June 30, 2026.
