MacGregor's Message 9/16/2022
Dear Families,

Monday, September 19 at 6 p.m. is the family and community presentation of the “Do It For Daniel” mental wellness program. At the presentation, Jeff Olsen, Daniel’s father, will lead a discussion and screening of the documentary “Do It For Daniel,” which tells the story of Daniel Olsen and his battle with depression and anxiety. I know that suicide and mental health can be difficult topics to talk about, but they are both important issues that we must discuss to support our students and families. Be sure to mark your calendars for our annual Homecoming parade and game on Friday, September 30. I look forward to the parade and game each year as it is always fun to see our community out along the parade route supporting our students. This year’s game will be great as we take on our neighbors down M-59, the Hartland Eagles. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. and travel west down Grand River from National Street to Center Street, and the game will start at 7 p.m. in Howell High School’s Memorial Stadium.

While our Transportation Department is fully staffed for the bus routes we have, we still need additional drivers to ensure that we can continue to maintain our current routes. To avoid interruption in bus service, we are actively trying to hire additional bus drivers and substitute drivers to alleviate these staffing shortages. If you or anyone you know is interested in becoming a bus driver, please visit BeABusDriver.org to learn more.

Our Early Childhood Department is hiring additional Kids Kare staff for our before and after school programs in each elementary school. While hours may vary slightly, they are typically 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. To learn more about this job opportunity, please visit https://bit.ly/3deEiYZ.

Tonight is our football team’s home opener. Kick-off is set for 7 p.m. against the Plymouth Wildcats. I hope to see you all at Howell High School’s Memorial Stadium. Go Highlanders!

Sincerely,
Erin J. MacGregor, Ed.S.
