District Updates 8/6/20
Dear Families

As we move closer to the first day of school, we are busy updating our website with items for the new school year. To help families quickly find many of the most requested items like bus routes and school meal menus, we will be posting links to them on our Return to School website at HowellSchools.com/RTS.

Michigan Alliance for Families Webinar Series
Michigan Alliance for Families is partnering with MiMTSS (Michigan's Multi-Tiered System of Supports) for a 3-part webinar series for parents about planning for their child's transition back to school and learning what they can do to support learning at home. The series begins on Wednesday, August 19. To learn more, please visit https://tinyurl.com/PBISwebinars. To register for the webinar, please visit tinyurl.com/MiMTSSMAF.

Optional School Supply Lists
While the district provides all of the necessary school supplies needed for our students to complete the required course curriculum, we share an optional school supply list for families who wish to purchase supplies for their children. You can find this year's optional school supply lists at https://bit.ly/2PBGaLz.

School Meal Menus and Free and Reduced Meal Applications Posted Online
Our Food Service Department has posted this year's school meal menus online at https://bit.ly/30yP5nt. Additionally, if your family qualifies for Free or Reduced Price School Meals, you can complete that application at https://bit.ly/2z6nDlP. If you are not sure if your family qualifies for Free or Reduced Price School Meals, please, there is an eligibility chart posted at https://bit.ly/2z6nDlP.

Updating Student Information in PowerSchool
If you have not already done so, please take a moment to review your child's information in the PowerSchool Parent Portal and make any updates that are needed. This will ensure that we have the proper contact information for your family. You can find directions on how to do this at https://bit.ly/2OchZTy.

Weekly Bond Update
Our bond projects continue to move forward. The new lighting at Howell High School's Memorial Stadium is up and working, and the new seating has been installed in the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center. We have also started receiving deliveries of furniture for our new MakerSpaces/Project Labs. To view this week's bond update, please visit https://bit.ly/3ae0jRL.

Sincerely,
Erin J. MacGregor, Ed.S.
