District Updates 7/16/20

Dear Families,

Our Return to School Task Force is working tirelessly on developing our plan for returning to school this fall. We have a core team guiding the development of the plan, as well as nine subcommittees examining every aspect of bringing students back to school. Parent input from our first survey helped inform the planning process as will the results of our current Return to School survey. If you have not yet completed our current Return to School Survey, please do so by tomorrow, Friday, July 17, at 4 p.m. You can find the current survey at https://bit.ly/32fqWDI. If you would like to review the results of the first survey, you can view them at https://bit.ly/2ZAGRLd. Our current timeline for completing the plan is to have a draft ready for staff review and feedback next week and to share the plan with families for review and feedback during the week of July 27. I know there are many questions, concerns, and uncertainties around all of this, but please know, we are truly doing our absolute best to share the information we have and to develop a plan that we feel best meets the needs of all of our families.

FIRST Robotics Interest Form

Our FIRST robotics teams are planning for the upcoming school year and seasons. While there are many unknowns, we hope the various robotics seasons will be able to move forward. FIRST Robotics is an excellent program that teaches leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and to apply math, science, and technology in a fun, real-world environment. In Howell, we offer robotics programs to students in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade. If your child is interested in joining robotics for the 2020-21 school year, please complete this 2020-2021 Robotics Interest Form

Salvation Army Summer Lunch Bunch Runs Through July 31

The Salvation Army Summer Lunch Bunch will continue to offer meals and pantry packs to those in need through Friday, July 31. Pantry Packs are filled with boxed and canned, shelf-stable groceries that can help the families build a menu of lunches for the upcoming week. In addition, fresh fruits and vegetables are introduced into Pantry Packs as funds and donations allow. To learn more about the Summer Lunch Bunch, please visit https://bit.ly/3dTCgbB
