Demetrius (Logan Barb), Helena (Devin Douglas), Lysander (Rohan Cheerla) and Hermia (Laine Wyatt)10/25/2021 - This fall, the Howell High School Performing Arts Department will present Shakespeare's classic play "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The production will be presented at 7 p.m. on November 5 and 6 and at 2 p.m. on November 7. All shows are at the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center.

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" is set in Athens in the days leading up to the wedding of Duke Theseus (Brendan Closz) to Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons (Joey Burgam). In this romantic comedy, Egeus (Brain Riordan) asks Duke Theseus to intervene when his daughter Hermia (Laine Wyatt) refuses to marry Demetrius (Logan Barb) because she is in love with Lysander (Rohan Cheerla). Unhappy with the Duke's solution to the situation, Hermia and Lysander run off to the woods to elope. Upon learning of this plan, Hermia's good friend Helena (Devin Douglas) alerts Demetrius, whom Helena is in love with, and the pair chase after Hermia and Lysander. In the same woods, a group of workers are preparing a play to present to the Duke and Queen on their wedding day, and the Fairy King Oberon (Lucas Somers) and his wife Queen Titania (Samantha Derry) are feuding. Hilarity ensues as Puck (Olivia LaCommare), one of King Oberon's fairy servants, places a spell on several characters, making them fall in love with the first creature they see.

Advanced sale tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/2ZGF1HK.
