9/14/18 - A new collaborative effort between Howell Public Schools and the Howell Carnegie District Library will open up a world of new resources for Howell students. Through the collaboration, all Howell students will have access to the Howell Carnegie District Library’s digital subscriptions and resources. Students will be able to access the library’s resources using their student ID number as a virtual library card.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our students. As we roll-out our 1:1 Chromebook program, we will now be able to provide students with access to high quality, online education resources that would be cost prohibitive for our schools to purchase” said Elson Liu, Howell Public Schools executive director of instructional services. “This is just one of the many ways that the Howell Carnegie District Library supports our district and students. We are very thankful for the continued support that they provide to our district.”

“The Howell Carnegie District Library currently provides access to these online resources to those who have a library card. This partnership will allow all Howell students to access them whether they have a library card or not,” said Holly Ward Lamb, Howell Carnegie District Library director. “It doesn’t make sense for both the district and the library to subscribe to the same resources when we can make them available to students at no cost. This collaborative effort is just another example of the valuable services that the Howell Carnegie District Library can provide to Howell Public Schools and the Howell community.”

As the collaboration launches, Howell students and parents will receive information on how to access the online resources and subscriptions.
