1/12/18 – Students is Theresa Sawyer’s second-grade class at Voyager Elementary recently held a Super Cool Science Show to showcase their science projects and explain the phenomenon behind the science. The Super Cool Science Show was the culminating event of a much larger project that used the concepts of Project Based Learning to bring several academic areas into one project.

In addition to conducting a science experiment, the students used technology to create a video of their group performing their science experiment and English Language Arts to write a procedural paper explaining the steps involved in their science project.

“This project really required the students to collaborate and be their best every day. I was impressed with the student talk that I heard going on. The parent involvement was great, and we couldn't have done it without their generous donations of supplies. It was great to see all hands on deck and see how it all came together,” said Sawyer. “The improvement in my student's writing and teamwork is amazing.”
