Artworks by Parker Middle School students Maria Manarino and Meagan
Tucker were recently featured in the Michigan Art Education
Association’s middle school art show. Artworks from hundreds of students
from around the state were submitted to be adjudicated by an art
professional. The top 100 entries were selected to be part of the art
show and were displayed at the College for Creative Studies in April.
Manarino and Tucker were excited that they were selected for the show.
“I thought it was really cool because I didn’t really know I was good at
art,” said Tucker. “I was happy and surprised that I got selected,”
At the conclusion of the art show, the students
whose artwork was selected were invited to the College for Creative
Studies for an awards ceremony and art workshop. During the workshop,
the students worked with art professionals to create a sketchbook.
