Southeast Elementary

As part of the “March is Reading Month” theme, Southeast Elementary celebrated by having their Book Fair from March 10 through the 14. The theme was: Take a Reading Road Trip and everyone in the school got involved in decorating the hallways, classroom doors and even the Media Center, where the Book Fair was held.

New this year was, “Bring a Loved One to Lunch!” All students were given the opportunity to invite a special loved one(s) to have lunch with them and then attend the Book Fair afterwards. The luncheon was held on two days and Book Fair Chairpersons, Alexia McDonald (Southeast Media Specialist) and Sherry Howard (Southeast parent and PTO volunteer) decided to offer a pizza lunch to those who wished to attend. It was a huge success! There were many Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles – even big brothers! The Book Fair raised more money that it has in the past and the proceeds from the pizza lunch were used to buy books (from the Book Fair) for the teachers.

We look forward to doing it again next year!
