A Message from the Principal

Welcome to Challenger Elementary! Challenger has a long history of providing a quality education for all students. Currently, we have approximately 590 students in grades K-5. We feature an exciting curriculum designed to meet the needs of each individual learner. We are an NCA-accredited school, a Blue Ribbon School and are continually working on enhancing our curriculum in all areas. Our instruction is correlated to the Michigan Curriculum Frameworks and designed to include the new Grade Level Content Expectations. Students also receive weekly instruction in the areas of art, music, physical education and computer. Our “specials” staff is exemplary, designing a program based on student’s needs, brain research and coordinating their efforts with ongoing classroom instruction. Our Challenger Staff is dedicated to student learning and increasing student achievement.

Our parent organization (PTO) is an outstanding addition to our school team. Their constant support through their volunteer and fund raising efforts have a significant impact on our students’ educational environment.

I am honored to be a part of the Challenger team. It is my belief that parents and our community are our partners in the educational process. All through this school year, know that the Challenger Staff and I will work in partnership with you to create safe, positive learning environments in which to prepare all of our children for the future.
