TENNIS (Boys & Girls)
I. SCHEDULE
Dual: Double round robin (Home and Away) within the Divison.
Conference Tournament: Single Elimination Tournament will be held on Saturday (with
Tuesday being the rain date) prior to the MHSAA State Regional. The
entries in each flight for the league meet must have played at least
50% of their league matches at that flight (unless there are verified
extenuating circumstances)
II. DAYS OF SCHEDULE
Dual Matches: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Start Time: 4:00pm.
Number of matches: 4 singles, 5 doubles.
NOTE: If teams are unable to complete their dual match schedule and it impacts a divisional championship, these teams will make-up their matches or match after the conference tournament.
III. CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Division: Each Division champion will be determined by dual meets within the
Division.
Conference: Conference champion will be determined by the tournament winner.
IV. ALL CONFERENCE AWARDS
Results of Conference Tournament will determine medals.
INDIVIDUAL MEDALS:
Total of 28 medals will be distributed at the conference tournament as follows:
All Conference will be comprised of the winners on each flight (5 doubles) at the
league meet and will be named All-Conference. The runner-ups in each flight will also
be named All-Conference. These All-Conference athletes will receive medals.
V. TEAM AWARDS:
Division: Champion shall receive permanent award.
Conference: Champion shall receive a permanent award.
It is possible to have co or tri champions for Division and Conference.
VI. KENSINGTON LAKES ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION, U.S. TENNIS ASSOCIATION and
MHSAA RULES and REGULATIONS.
All schools are expected to follow the rules and regulations in the Tennis
Coaches Manual published by the MHSAA. Coaches must use players in ranked
ability order for dual matches. If an unexpected absence occurs at the
Conference tournament, coaches will substitute at the position of the absent
player.
