KENSINGTON LAKES CONFERENCE BY-LAWS

SOCCER (Boys/Girls)

I. SCHEDULE

Dual: Double round robin (H & A) within the Division (10 games) and a two game playoff on Monday & Wednesday, week prior to the MHSAA District.
Point system: Win = 2 points, Tie = 1 point

II. DAYS TO BE SCHEDULED

Tuesdays & Thursdays. Mondays & Wednesdays (Freshmen).
Freshmen (30 min. halfs), J.Varsity (35 min. halfs), Varsity (40 min. halfs). No running time at all three levels.

III. CHAMPIONSHIP:

Division: The Division championship will be determined by the records (win-loss-tie) within the Division. All 10 Division games count toward the Division.

Conference: The Conference and Association championship will be determined by a two (2) game playoff system. The MHSAA tie-breaker format will be used during the KLAA Conference and Association Championship games only.

Playoff Formula: The Conference championship and other Conference places will be determined by a one (1) game playoff (Monday). The Association championship and other Association places will be determined by a one (1) game playoff (Wednesday). Teams in each division will be matched by records with opposite Division teams for the playoffs. NOTE: Junior Varsity (JV) teams will travel with varsity team.

TIE BREAKER - POINT SYSTEM:
___Win = 2 points
___Tie = 1 point

The tie breaker for the Division to determine the Conference playoff will be as follows:
__A. Division points
__B. Head-to-head results
__C. Fewest goals allowed in remaining division games
__D. Goal Differential head-to-head
__E. Goal differential in remaining division games

IV. ALL-CONFERENCE AWARDS:

CONFERENCE: There will be two All Conference teams of forty-two (42) players, as determined by place of finish. Medals will be awarded as follows:

1st place = 6 players
2nd place = 6 players
3rd place = 5 players
4th place = 5 players
5th place = 4 players
6th place = 4 players
7th place = 3 players
8th place = 3 players
9th place = 2 player
10th place = 2 player
11th place = 1 player
12th place = 1 player

84 medals will be awarded in total for the Association (42 per Conference).

V. TEAM AWARDS
Division: Champions shall receive a permanent award.
Conference: Champions shall receive a permanent award.
Association: Champions shall receive a permanent award.

It is not possible to have a co-champions for Conference and Association. Following MHSAA overtime format, at the end of regulation there will be a 15-minute overtime period. If necessary there will be a second 15-minute overtime period. If a tie still remains, there will be a shoot-out following MHSAA format. Co- Champions may be declared for the Divisional title, however, the tiebreaker will take effect for the KLAA Playoffs.

VI. KENSINGTON LAKES ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION (KLAA), NATIONAL FEDERATION, and MHSAA RULES and REGULATIONS

Mercy Rule: The National Federation & MHSAA mercy rule will be in effect. Eight goal differential in the 2nd Half.

Kensington Lakes Activities Association Conference and Association championship games played to conclusion.

Dual matches concluded on a tie, no shoot outs.

Freshmen Matches sixty minutes (30 min. halfs) in length. Junior Varsity matches seventy (35 min. halfs) minutes in length. Varsity will be eighty (40 min. halfs) minutes. No running time at any level.
Two officials will be utilized at the Freshmen and J.Varsity levels of play. Three officials at the Varsity level. Start times are 4:00 pm (Fr), 5:30 pm (JV) and 7:00 pm (Varsity).

VII. CONFERENCE & ASSOCIATION PROCEDURES

Host School Determination

Even Numbered Years (Determined by the start of the school year)
Conference Championship Hosts = Central & Western Divisions
Association Championship Host = Kensington Conference

Odd Numbered Years (Determined by the start of the school year)
Conference Championship Hosts = South & North Divisions
Association Championship Host = Lakes Conference
