

Howell Public Schools' licensed child care programs offer families a nurturing environment that supports each child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. Caregivers are trained in developmentally appropriate practices as well as basic first aid and CPR.

Little Howeller's Child Care
Governor's Quality Care Award Recipient 2002
This center is licensed to care for children ages two weeks through
five years. Classrooms are located in the Freshman Campus building
and Southwest elementary. Hours of operation are 7:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, on a year-round basis.
Kinderfriends
This program offers both full and half-day care for children currently
enrolled in a kindergarten program. The program is designed to
support the kindergarten curriculum with students participating
in large and small group activities, learning centers, outdoor
play and free discovery areas.
Kids' Kare
This program offers care for students at each of Howell Public
Schools' elementary schools. Care is offered from 6:30 a.m. to
8:55 a.m. and from 3:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on school days. Students
are offered arts and crafts activities, outdoor and gym play,
board games, homework, etc.
Preschool
Howell Public Schools' preschool programs offer children a structured,
supportive environment that fosters experimentation, exploration
and creativity. Children will have multiple opportunities for
successful experiences in both large and small group activities
while focusing on positive interactions with teachers and peers.
Curriculum centers on social, emotional, physical and cognitive
growth for all children with a major emphasis on building a positive
self-image, following a classroom routine and forming a life-long
love of learning.
