During the week of September 30, Howell Public Schools will celebrate Homecoming 2019. Below you will find information on the events planned for the week.

Spirit Week

This year, all students in the district will be celebrating Homecoming 2019 with a Spirit Week. Below are the themes for each day as voted on by the high school student body. Some schools may have altered these days, so please be sure to check your child’s school website for the school’s spirit days. 

Monday: Twin Day 

Tuesday: Character Day

Wednesday: Color Day

Thursday: Hawaiian Day

Friday: Green & Gold Day

Powder Puff Games

The annual Homecoming Powder Puff games will be held on Wednesday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. Gates will open at 6:15 p.m. and admission of $5. Children under five are free. Athletic passes cannot be used for admission to the Powder Puff games.


The Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, October 4. The parade will begin at 5 p.m. at N National Street and head west down Grand River, ending at Center Street. The parade will feature students from each Howell school, marching bands, the Homecoming Court and various student groups. Additionally, the parade will honor the State Champion Boys Rugby Team, two-time State Champion swimmer Hunter Gubeno, the State Runner-up Girls Softball Team, and the Final FourBoy’s Basketball Team. This year’s Grand Marshal is Nick Simon, Howell High School Social Students teacher, and Boy’s Varsity Basketball coach.  

Homecoming Game

The Howell Highlanders will take on the Salem Rocks in this year’s homecoming game. The game will be held on Friday, October 4, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. A special halftime show will honor the 2019 Homecoming Court and include the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.
